The following are highlights of the evolution and history of Aerotek over the last 25 years:

Aerotek was founded by the entrepreneurs Steve Bisciotti and Jim Davis, in Baltimore, Maryland. Aerotek gets its start by catering to the engineering staffing needs of companies in the aerospace and defense industries. .
Aerotek earns more than $1 million in revenue during its first year of operation, due to dedication and the early establishment of a customer-centered reputation. The 1980's were marked by prosperous growth all over the United States, based on the successful customer-focused model. Aerotek also extends its services to industries beyond aerospace and defense. |

|
Due to the increasing need for qualified engineering personnel to support automotive manufacturers and suppliers, Aerotek begins an automotive division based in Michigan. |
| 1990 |
Aerotek creates Telecommunications Services, which is known today as TEKsystems. The IT staffing and consulting company, TEKsystems, has been acknowledged as the leading information and technology staffing firm in the United States. (IT Services Business Report)

Aerotek obtains an environmental and energy management staffing company, called Onsite. The expansion of Aerotek outside of the United States to Europe, leads to its first office in Slough, England. |

|
In order to support the technical staffing needs of the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, Aerotek forms a scientific division.

Aerotek enlarges its operations to Canada and opens its first Canadian office in Mississauga, Ontario. |

|
A commercial division of Onsite is formed to supply businesses with light industrial, light technical and clerical staffing services. |
| 1997 |
Aerotek starts a professional services operating company to staff administrative and professional positions for corporations in various industries. The company was first called Option One and later changed to Mentor 4. |
| 1998
|
Allegis Group develops into the official name of the parent company for its operating companies including Aerotek, Onsite, and TEKsystems. |
| 2000
|
The operating company Onsite forms a specialized aviation division to place mechanics, technicians, and specialized personnel to the aviation industry. |
| 2001
|
Aerotek and Onsite merge divisions becoming Onsite Companies and exceeding $1 billion in sales. |
| 2004
|
In order to keep the association with high quality staffing, Onsite Companies changes its name to Aerotek, Inc.
Aerotek is named the number one U.S. engineering staffing supplier by Staffing Industry Analysts. |
| 2006 |
The professional services staffing company, Mentor 4, which previously operated under Allegis Group, was renamed Aerotek Professional Services to become a division of Aerotek and capitalize on the Aerotek brand recognition. |
| 2007 |
Staffing Industry Analysts name Allegis Group the second largest staffing company within the United States and the sixth largest worldwide.
